Analyzing and managing the
financial aspects of the clinical laboratory includes navigating the
complexities of reimbursement for our services.
This session will examine the fee for service, capitation, value-based
and bundled payment methods for reimbursement as well as guidelines for billing
and coding to capture the correct revenue.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be
able to
- Define the different types of reimbursement
- Describe the billing process that laboratories must follow
- Discuss and analyze the approach of Medicare, Medicaid and other insurers to laboratory reimbursement
