Who's Liable Anyway? The Laboratory's Role in Artificial Intelligence Adoption

Artificially intelligent (AI) solutions containing clinical laboratory data could possess inaccuracy. As stakeholders in patient safety, laboratorians should be informed of where errors and bias can occur in the applications of healthcare AI.

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Describe how ethical AI impacts the clinical laboratory
  • List the core principles of ethical AI
  • Analyze the clinical laboratory's role and liability in healthcare AI integration

ASCLS is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® Program. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area of SAF (Safety) will be awarded to participants.
