Diabetes: Current Practice in Diagnosis, Monitoring, Treatment, and Lab Testing

This session will explore the latest diabetes guidelines of medical societies and the advances in diagnosing, screening, preventing and treating of all types of diabetes. The impact on and challenges for our laboratory services will be presented.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Describe most current diagnostic criteria for each major type of diabetes and subtypes of type 2
  • Discuss, compare and contrast the different guidelines from ADA, ACOG and AACE
  • Analyze the advantages and shortfalls of current laboratory testing

CE ACCREDITATION
ASCLS is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® Program. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area of C/U (Chemistry) will be awarded to participants.
